Shatta Wale performs ritual bath after EOCO release

Shatta Wale has once again captured public attention, days after his release from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) custody.

A video shared on Instagram by GH Hyper on August 24, 2025, shows the dancehall musician undergoing a ritual bath shortly after visiting the Teshie Gbuglah Mantse Palace.

The “On God” hitmaker paid homage to Nii Martey Larye, expressing his profound gratitude for the chief’s support during his detention.

He was accompanied by his team, who offered moral support as the cleansing ritual was performed.

The dancehall star had been detained on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, after voluntarily appearing at the EOCO headquarters in Accra with his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo.

His detention was linked to investigations into a luxury vehicle allegedly tied to a financial scandal in the United States.

Authorities are also probing possible violations of Ghana’s tax regulations related to the vehicle.

Shatta Wale secured his release on Thursday, August 21, 2025, after meeting bail conditions set at GH¢5 million with two sureties.
