Briefing the media on Tuesday, May 12, CID Director-General Commissioner of Police Lydia Yaako Donkor said investigations indicate that the suspect ran a Telegram platform called “VIP Sleep Fetish 2025.”
She alleged that the suspect used a drug identified as alprazolam, commonly known as Xanax, to allegedly sedate unsuspecting women before sexually abusing them, recording the acts, and sharing the videos online without their consent.
According to her, further investigations suggest that the suspect frequented nightclubs, where he allegedly targeted victims, drugged them, and committed similar offences before circulating the content online.

During the arrest, police retrieved several items including two iPhones, a feature phone, a memory card, a Seagate external hard drive, a MacBook laptop, an is Safe device, and empty sachets believed to have contained alprazolam and midazolam.
The Police Service said the electronic devices have been secured for forensic analysis, while the sachets will be examined by the Food and Drugs Authority to determine their contents and classification.
Commissioner Donkor confirmed that the suspect has been arraigned before court and investigations are ongoing. The Ghana Police Service says it remains committed to tackling cyber-enabled sexual exploitation and is urging the public to report such cases to the appropriate authorities.
