Several communities across Accra will experience temporary water supply disruptions on Thursday, July 9, 2026, as Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) carries out a scheduled 24-hour maintenance exercise at the Dodowa Booster Station.

According to GWL, the planned maintenance is intended to improve the efficiency, reliability and long-term sustainability of the water distribution system serving the affected areas.

As part of the exercise, the Dodowa Booster Station will be temporarily shut down to allow engineers to carry out critical maintenance works. During this period, customers supplied by the station may experience low water pressure or a complete interruption in water supply.

GWL Advises Residents to Store Water

Ghana Water Ltd has urged residents and businesses in the affected areas to store enough water before the maintenance begins and to use available supplies sparingly during the 24-hour exercise.

The company assured customers that its engineering team will work to complete the maintenance within the scheduled timeframe to minimise disruptions and restore normal water supply as soon as possible.

In a statement, GWL apologised for the inconvenience and appealed for public cooperation while the essential works are carried out.

“Management regrets the inconvenience this temporary interruption may cause and sincerely appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of customers as we undertake these essential maintenance works to improve the reliability and quality of water service delivery,” the company said.

The maintenance forms part of Ghana Water Ltd's ongoing efforts to enhance water service delivery and ensure a more reliable supply for consumers across the Greater Accra Region.
