Full list of 62 unrecognised institutions in Ghana by GTEC
The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has released a comprehensive list of 62 unrecognised institutions, warning the public to be cautious when dealing with certificates issued by these entities due to serious quality assurance concerns.
In a public notice issued on Friday, 17 April 2026, the Commission named a mix of universities, colleges, seminaries, and training institutions from across the world, including some operating within Ghana.
GTEC cautioned students, parents, and employers to exercise due diligence before enrolling in or accepting qualifications from these institutions.

GTEC reiterated that some of these institutions operate without proper accreditation or recognised academic standards, urging the public to verify all institutions through official regulatory bodies before making academic or financial commitments.
