GES 2026 Promotion Applications: Full list of positions and how to apply

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has opened applications for its 2026 promotion exercise for serving non-teaching staff, giving eligible employees an opportunity to apply for promotion to various upper grades.

Applications will be accepted online from Monday, September 14 to Monday, September 28, 2026.

The promotion exercise covers several categories, including Accounting, Internal Audit, Administrative, Catering, Technical, Librarian, Supply, Laboratory Technician, Secretarial and Driver classes.

Applicants are required to complete the online application and upload the relevant supporting documents before the deadline.

GES 2026 promotion qualification

To qualify for the promotion exercise, an applicant must:

  • Have been promoted to any of the specified grades in or before 2022.

  • Have remained continuously at post since the relevant promotion date, except during periods of approved absence.

  • Have a very satisfactory work history.

  • Have demonstrated good conduct while serving with the Ghana Education Service.

GES promotion: Master's and PhD requirements

GES has also provided guidelines for officers seeking to use Master's or PhD qualifications to join the promotion interviews out of turn.

Applicants relying on a Master's or PhD must meet the following requirements:

  1. The Master's or PhD programme must be among the approved Ghana Education Service courses of study.

  2. The qualification must not have been obtained before the applicant's previous promotion.

  3. Applicants using a Master's or PhD certificate for promotion must have obtained the qualification in or before 2023.

How to apply for GES 2026 promotion

Eligible non-teaching staff must complete the GES 2026 promotion application form online.

Applicants should:

  1. Complete the online application form through the designated application link or by scanning the official QR code.

  2. Upload a recent passport-sized photograph.

  3. Upload only their latest promotion/upgrading letter or appointment letter to their current grade, as applicable.

  4. Applicants relying on a Master's or Doctorate qualification should upload only the relevant Master's or Doctorate certificate.

  5. Ensure all supporting documents, except the passport photograph, are uploaded in PDF format.

  6. Make sure all uploaded documents are clear and readable.

GES 2026 promotion application deadline

The application window runs from Monday, September 14 to Monday, September 28, 2026.

Eligible GES non-teaching staff are encouraged to complete their applications and upload all required documents before the deadline.
