Ghana Police arrest Nigerian lady wearing a police uniform in viral video

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a Nigerian national captured in a viral video wearing police uniforms.
In a statement shared on its official Facebook page, the service announced: “Police arrest Nigerian national seen in viral videos wearing police uniforms.”

According to the police, the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) intercepted viral footage of a woman identified as Esther Obasi, a Nigerian national, allegedly dressed in official Ghana Police camouflage and the standard black police uniform.
The statement explained that the videos sparked widespread public concern and outrage over the unauthorised use of police attire and alleged impersonation.

Following investigations, the CVET reportedly traced the suspect to the Prestea area in the Western Region, where she was subsequently arrested.
The police further disclosed that the officer whose uniform was allegedly used has been identified and will face internal disciplinary processes.
