Power outages to hit Tema from September 1–3; check affected areas

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works that will result in temporary power outages across parts of the Tema operational area from Tuesday, September 1, to Thursday, September 3, 2026.

According to ECG, the maintenance exercise forms part of efforts to improve electricity supply and service delivery to customers.

The affected communities will experience power interruptions between 9:00am and 4:00pm on the respective days.

ECG has apologised for the inconvenience the planned maintenance works may cause customers.

Time: 9:00am–4:00pm

Customers in the following areas are expected to experience a temporary power outage:

  • Deaf & Dumb

  • Underbridge

  • Roman Down

  • Regional Maritime University

  • Friday's

  • Nungua P&T

  • Posolipo

  • Buena Vista Home

  • Vivian Farms

  • Surrounding areas

Time: 9:00am–4:00pm

The following areas have been listed for the planned outage:

ECG advises affected customers.

The planned outages are part of ECG’s scheduled maintenance programme aimed at improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply.

Residents and businesses in the affected communities are therefore advised to plan ahead for the temporary interruption in power supply.

ECG has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the exercise and thanked customers for their understanding and cooperation.
