Mohamed Salah says he feels “thrown under the bus” by Liverpool, revealing that his relationship with head coach Arne Slot has completely deteriorated.

Salah was left on the bench for Liverpool’s 3-3 draw against Leeds United on Saturday—the third consecutive match in which the Egyptian captain has not started.

Speaking to reporters after the game, the forward, who has scored 250 goals in 420 appearances for the club, delivered an astonishing assessment of his situation.

“I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame.
I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager, and all of a sudden we don't have any relationship.
I don't know why, but it seems to me, how I see it, that someone doesn't want me in the club.
It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling. I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame.”

Salah insisted that his loyalty to Liverpool remains unchanged despite the tension.

“This club, I will always support it. My kids will always support it. I love the club so much, and I always will.
It [the situation] is not acceptable to me, to be fair. I don't get it. It's like I'm being thrown more under the bus. I don't think I'm the problem. I have done so much for this club. I don't have to fight every day for my position because I earn it. I earned my position.”

With the Africa Cup of Nations beginning on 15 December, Salah admitted he is uncertain about his long-term future at Anfield despite signing a two-year extension in April.

Salah, now 33, scored 29 Premier League goals last season as Liverpool lifted the title in Slot’s debut campaign. But he has struggled to replicate that form this term, managing just four goals in 13 league matches.

Signed from Roma in 2017 under Jurgen Klopp, Salah has been one of the club’s most influential players of the modern era. His global status — especially in the Middle East — has long attracted attention from the Saudi Pro League, whose clubs have repeatedly targeted him.

Sources say Al-Hilal, coached by Simone Inzaghi, are among the latest teams keen to bring the Egyptian superstar to Saudi Arabia.
