Singapore Airlines to roll out Faster Starlink in-flight Wi-Fi from 2027

Singapore Airlines is set to significantly upgrade its onboard connectivity experience, announcing plans to introduce Starlink’s low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite-based Wi-Fi service across selected aircraft starting in early 2027.

The rollout will cover the airline’s Airbus A350-900 long-haul (LH), A350-900 ultra-long-range (ULR), and A380 aircraft, with full implementation expected to be completed by the end of 2029.

Next-Generation Connectivity in the Sky

Starlink, which has already deployed more than 10,000 satellites in low Earth orbit, will power the service using its aviation-focused Aero Terminal. The system is capable of delivering speeds of up to 1 Gbps per antenna, offering what the airline describes as a major leap in onboard internet performance.

Speaking on the development, Yeoh Phee Teik, senior vice president of customer experience at Singapore Airlines, said modern air travel increasingly depends on strong digital connectivity.

He noted that the airline already provides one of the most comprehensive free Wi-Fi services globally, and the introduction of Starlink will further elevate the experience.

“Fast, seamless connectivity is, today, an essential part of the travel experience,” he said. “Starlink will take this to the next level by delivering next-generation high-speed connectivity, enabling customers to stay entertained, connected, and productive throughout their journey.”
