Chelsea sack Liam Rosenior after 3 months

Chelsea FC have sacked head coach Liam Rosenior after less than four months in charge, following a sharp decline in form that culminated in five consecutive Premier League defeats without scoring.
The club confirmed the decision after a disappointing run that saw Chelsea suffer a 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday, extending a goal drought that has not been seen at the club since 1912.

Rosenior, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in January on a five-and-a-half-year contract, leaves having won just 11 of his 23 matches in all competitions. Despite early expectations, results quickly deteriorated, with Chelsea slipping to seventh place in the Premier League and facing a major setback in their push for UEFA Champions League qualification.
Following the Brighton defeat, Rosenior publicly described the team’s performance as “indefensible” and "unacceptable", amid visible frustration from travelling supporters who voiced their anger during the match.

In an official statement, Chelsea praised Rosenior’s professionalism and conduct during his tenure but stressed that recent performances had fallen below the club’s required standards.
The club stated, "Liam has always conducted himself with the highest integrity and professionalism following his appointment midway through the season. This has not been a decision the club has taken lightly; however, recent results and performances have fallen below the necessary standards with still so much more to play for this season.”
The decision marks Chelsea’s continued struggle for stability this season, as they now turn their attention to finding a new direction for the remainder of the campaign.
