Accra Hearts of Oak delivered a commanding performance to secure a convincing 3–0 victory over Eleven Wonders in Saturday’s Ghana Premier League encounter, underlining their growing momentum in the title race.

The Phobians set the tone early and were rewarded in the eighth minute through Mawuli Wayo, who showed excellent composure to control Henry Kwaku Boateng’s incisive pass before drilling a low finish beyond goalkeeper Obengfo Adjei. T

The early goal exposed Eleven Wonders’ tentative start and forced them into a reactive posture for much of the opening period.

Hearts should have doubled their advantage almost immediately. Kwaku Boateng, however, squandered a golden opportunity just two minutes later, firing over from close range with the goal at his mercy.

It proved a major let-off for Wonders, who struggled to settle and looked vulnerable whenever Hearts increased the tempo.

The remainder of the first half was marked by a series of unforced errors from both sides, disrupting any sustained rhythm. Hearts’ Raphael Amponsah and Abdul Karim were guilty of breaking down promising moves, while Wonders’ Obed Ofori and Emmanuel Boateng similarly failed to capitalize in the final third.

Nevertheless, Hearts remained the more purposeful side and went close again on the stroke of halftime when Frank Duku opted to pass rather than shoot from eight yards, with Wayo’s resulting header narrowly clearing the crossbar.

The second half saw Hearts ruthlessly exploit Eleven Wonders’ defensive frailties. Their second goal arrived after a chaotic sequence in which Obengfo Adjei spilled a routine cross from Wayo, followed by a panicked defensive clearance.

Although Kwaku Boateng and Hamza Issa both failed to convert initially, Martin Karikari reacted quickest to poke home and extend the lead.

With the game firmly under control, Hearts continued to press, and their dominance was capped 13 minutes from time when Hamza Issa was fouled in the box by Kenneth Boakye Owusu, earning a penalty.

After a brief moment of confusion over who would take the spot kick, Kelvin Osei Asibey stepped up and calmly dispatched the effort, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to seal the result.

The emphatic win lifts Hearts of Oak to second place on 35 points, strengthening their push near the top of the table, pending the outcome of other fixtures.

For Eleven Wonders, the defeat marks their 15th loss in 20 matches and leaves them rooted to the bottom of the standings on just nine points, deepening concerns over their survival prospects.
