Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is reportedly under increasing pressure, with his position at risk if Ghana suffer another heavy defeat against Germany tonight, according to Asempa FM.

The 50-year-old has faced criticism following Ghana’s 5–1 loss to Austria last Friday in Vienna — the first of two international friendlies during this window.

At the Ernst Happel Stadium, Austria took an early lead through a 12th-minute penalty converted by Marcel Sabitzer after a handball by defender Jonas Adjetey. The hosts strengthened their grip in the second half with goals from Michael Gregoritsch and Stefan Posch.

Jordan Ayew pulled one back for Ghana in the 77th minute, but Austria quickly restored control, with substitutes Carney Chukwuemeka and Nicolas Seiwald adding late goals to seal a comprehensive victory.

Focus now shifts to Ghana’s final friendly against Germany in Stuttgart, where the technical team, led by Addo, is expected to deliver a much-improved performance.

Reports indicate that another disappointing result could trigger a review of Addo’s future. Kick-off is set for 18:45 GMT.

These matches are part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

After this international window, the Black Stars are scheduled to face Mexico in May and Wales in June before heading into the tournament, where they will compete in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia.
