The PKO Group of Companies has announced a strategic partnership with the EIB Network aimed at transforming sports development, youth empowerment, education, innovation, and community outreach across Ghana.

The collaboration, officially unveiled on Monday, March 16, 2026, reflects a shared vision to create opportunities for young people while promoting national development through sports, education, culture, and enterprise.

In a statement issued by PKO Group of Companies, it detailed that the partnership will focus on the development and promotion of sports across the country. While boxing will remain a flagship sport under the initiative due to Ghana’s rich legacy in the discipline, the partnership will also support football, athletics, and other sporting activities.

It additionally noted that the initiative will also seek to promote gender equality in sports.

"Through the wide media reach of EIB Network, athletes from across the country, including those in rural and underserved areas, will gain increased exposure and access to opportunities.

"The initiative will also strongly emphasise gender equality in sports, ensuring that both male and female athletes are provided with equal opportunities, support, and media visibility," part of the statement noted.

Athlete education and career development

Another key component of the collaboration is the involvement of Azalea Academy, an educational institution headquartered in Central London with satellite offices in Wandsworth and Canary Wharf.

The academy is expanding its presence in Ghana and will support the academic and professional development of athletes by offering training in sports science, sports psychology, mathematics, English, media and communication, as well as personal development and career skills.

The initiative aims to ensure athletes obtain recognised qualifications and practical skills that will prepare them for life beyond sports.

Promoting creative talent

The partnership will also support Animatic Frames, the arts and culture department of the PKO Group of Companies.

Through nationwide art competitions, exhibitions, and cultural showcases, the programme will identify and promote creative talent across Ghana, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

By leveraging EIB Network’s media platforms, emerging artists will gain national visibility and opportunities to showcase their work.

Supporting youth through enterprise

Another aspect of the collaboration involves Lord Edwards, the clothing and apparel brand under the PKO Group of Companies.

As part of the initiative’s community programmes, the brand will distribute school uniforms, sports kits, football boots, boxing gloves, and other sporting equipment to schools and community clubs across Ghana.

The programme aims to support young athletes while also promoting enterprise and social impact.

Driving innovation and development

The partnership will also promote the Global Solutions Division of the PKO Group of Companies, which focuses on engineering, architecture, agriculture, manufacturing, and technology development.

Through media exposure and collaborative initiatives, the division aims to highlight innovation-driven projects and opportunities that can support Ghana’s industrial growth and economic advancement.

Building a new ecosystem for talent

According to the organisers, the partnership between PKO Group of Companies and EIB Network seeks to create a comprehensive ecosystem that connects sports, education, culture, innovation, and community development.

By combining corporate resources, media platforms, and educational initiatives, the collaboration aims to empower the next generation of Ghanaian athletes, innovators, artists, and entrepreneurs while positioning Ghana as a hub for talent and opportunity.
