Real Madrid complete stunning comeback to win fiery Madrid derby

A dramatic Madrid derby delivered everything—intensity, quality, and late drama—as Real Madrid came from behind to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The visitors struck first through Ademola Lookman, who finished from close range to hand Diego Simeone’s side a deserved half-time lead.
However, the momentum shifted rapidly after the restart in a breathtaking spell that defined the contest.

Just seven minutes into the second half, a mistimed challenge from David Hancko on Brahim Díaz gifted Madrid a penalty, which Vinícius Júnior calmly converted to restore parity.
Barely three minutes later, the hosts completed the turnaround as Federico Valverde pounced on a defensive lapse and finished emphatically to make it 2-1.
Yet, the drama was far from over. Nahuel Molina produced a stunning long-range strike to level the score once again, setting up a tense finale with just under 30 minutes remaining.

Having endured a frustrating run of 12 matches without scoring against Atlético, Vinícius rose to the occasion when it mattered most.
With 15 minutes left, the Brazilian forward capped a superb performance by curling home the winner after latching onto a brilliant switch of play from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
A late red card for Valverde threatened to tilt the balance once more, but Real Madrid showed resilience under pressure, repelling Atlético’s late advances to seal a hard-fought and deserved victory.
The result sees Real Madrid climb to second in the table ahead of their upcoming clash with Mallorca in six days, while fourth-placed Atlético Madrid will look to respond when they host Barcelona on April 4.
