Ronaldinho comes out of retirement to sign for Italian club Ravenna at 46
Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho has signed an agreement with Italian Serie C club Ravenna FC at the age of 46, sparking excitement among football fans worldwide. However, uncertainty remains over whether the former World Cup winner will actually feature in a competitive match for the club.
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Barcelona and AC Milan star will be officially presented by Ravenna during a special event in Miami on June 23.
Ronaldinho Excited About New Chapter
Speaking after the announcement, Ronaldinho expressed his enthusiasm about joining the Italian side.
"New colours, same smile," Ronaldinho said.
The Brazilian legend added that football has always been a source of happiness in his life and that he hopes to bring that same energy and passion to Ravenna.
"I can't wait to dance on the ball again and write a new story together with Ignazio and the entire Cipriani family," he stated.

Ravenna Owner Hails Ronaldinho Signing
Ravenna owner Ignazio Cipriani described the signing as a historic moment for the club.
Having spent much of his life in the United States, Cipriani said Ravenna remains close to his heart and revealed that Ronaldinho was one of his football idols growing up.
"Bringing Ronaldinho to the club is something extraordinary. His influence on football extends far beyond what he achieved on the pitch," Cipriani said.
Will Ronaldinho play in Serie C?
Despite the excitement surrounding the deal, questions remain over whether Ronaldinho will actually play for Ravenna during the 2026-27 Serie C season.
The club's vice-president, Ariedo Braida, clarified that the Brazilian's involvement is primarily linked to promotional and marketing activities.
"Ronaldinho will participate in marketing events with us, but he will not play for Ravenna in Serie C next season," Braida told Italian media.
He added that while he would love to see Ronaldinho back on the pitch, the football legend is now 46 years old and unlikely to return to competitive football.

Braida previously played a key role in bringing Ronaldinho to AC Milan in 2008 and described him as one of the greatest talents he has ever worked with.
A Career Filled With Glory
Ronaldinho last played a competitive match in 2015 for Brazilian club Fluminense, bringing an end to one of football's most celebrated careers.
The Brazilian enjoyed successful spells with top clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona and AC Milan.
During his time at Milan between 2008 and 2011, Ronaldinho scored 26 goals in 95 appearances.
His list of achievements includes winning the 2002 FIFA World Cup with the Brazil national football team and lifting the UEFA Champions League trophy with Barcelona.
While fans may be dreaming of one final competitive appearance, current indications suggest Ronaldinho's role at Ravenna will be focused on promoting the club rather than making a return to professional football.
