Ghanaian boxer Bahubali is dead

Ghanaian boxer Ernest Akushey, popularly known in the sporting fraternity as Bahubali, has passed away.
His death was reported on the morning of Tuesday, September 23, 2025, barely two weeks after he sustained heavy blows during a bout at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Born in Chorkor, a suburb of Accra, the 32-year-old competed in both the super middleweight and light heavyweight divisions, adjusting depending on the opponent and the bout.
Bahubali earned a reputation as a crowd favourite, admired for his explosive fighting style and fearless approach in the ring.
