Mexico fans set off fireworks and play loud music outside England's hotel ahead of World Cup clash

Mexico supporters created a lively atmosphere outside England's team hotel ahead of the two nations' FIFA World Cup Round of 16 showdown, with fireworks, drums and a live band used in an attempt to disrupt the Three Lions' preparations.

England are gearing up for a highly anticipated knockout clash against tournament co-hosts Mexico after coming from behind to defeat DR Congo and secure their place in the last 16.

Videos circulating on social media showed groups of Mexico fans assembling outside England's hotel late into the night. Supporters were seen setting off fireworks, playing musical instruments, beating drums and using megaphones in a bid to create noise ahead of the crucial encounter.

Several motorists also joined the effort, sounding their horns as they passed near the team base.

However, strict security measures limited how close supporters could get to the hotel.

Road closures and security checkpoints made access difficult, while riot police, police vans and steel barriers were deployed to secure the area.

Despite the late-night noise, England's security staff reportedly dismissed concerns that the disturbances had any significant impact on the players' preparations.
