Paris Saint-Germain delivered a footballing masterclass and a fair share of chaos as they dismantled Bayer Leverkusen 7–2 in a breathtaking Champions League clash in Germany.

The defending champions, already off to a perfect start this season, put on an attacking clinic that left the home fans stunned and the hosts’ unbeaten streak in tatters.

The first half alone had everything: five goals, two red cards, and a missed penalty – a spectacle that felt more like a season’s worth of drama condensed into 45 minutes.

PSG struck first when Pacho rose highest to head home an early opener, setting the tone for a pulsating contest. Moments later, Leverkusen squandered a golden opportunity to draw level when Grimaldo fired his penalty wide, and that miss would prove costly.

Tempers then flared. Home captain Andrich was dismissed for a reckless elbow on Doue before Zabarnyi joined him for a last-man foul minutes later.

From the ensuing spot-kick, Garcia made no mistake, briefly restoring hope for Leverkusen. But PSG, relentless and ruthless, struck back immediately, Doue netting twice with sublime precision, and Kvaratskhelia curling one into the top corner to make it 4–1 by halftime.

Remarkably, despite trailing heavily, Leverkusen led the xG battle (1.65 to PSG’s 1.46), a statistic that did little to soothe the humiliation unfolding on the scoreboard.

The second half brought no reprieve.

Nuno Mendes added a fifth soon after the restart, before Garcia’s stunning strike offered a flicker of consolation. Then came the icing on the Parisian cake: Ousmane Dembélé, returning from injury, rifled in a goal from an improbable angle, and Vitinha put the finishing touch on a dominant display with a late seventh.

Luis Enrique’s men, even after going down to ten men, looked every inch the reigning European champions – composed, clinical, and devastating in transition.

With their perfect record intact, PSG now carry immense momentum into their Ligue 1 trip to Brest, while Leverkusen are left to pick up the pieces before facing Freiburg at the weekend.
