Two-Time World Champion Nana Yaw Konadu Takes the Helm at PKO Boxing

PKO Boxing and the PKO Foundation have announced the appointment of Marvellous Nana Yaw Konadu as their new President, effective immediately.

According to the organization, the decision was reached more than a week ago but was confirmed following due diligence and compliance procedures.

He underwent a thorough assessment and was unanimously approved by the Board of Directors and all relevant stakeholders.

Nana Yaw Konadu is widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most accomplished boxers. Born in Sunyani in 1964, he compiled a professional record of 41 wins, 5 losses, and 1 draw, including 32 knockouts.

He won world titles in two weight divisions, first capturing the World Boxing Council super flyweight title in 1989 before winning the World Boxing Association bantamweight title twice in the mid 1990s.

His achievements contributed significantly to Ghana’s standing in global boxing and placed him among the most respected fighters in the country’s history.

PKO praised Konadu’s character and values as decisive factors in the appointment. “Nana Yaw Konadu represents humility, hard work, transparency, and trustworthiness,” the company stated. “His leadership gives hope to fellow boxers and aligns with PKO’s mission to protect athletes, promote honesty, and build future world champions.”

The organization also emphasized that boxers remain at the core of its priorities.

PKO expressed gratitude to former interim Honorary President Joseph Agbeko, who stepped down following the transition.

 “We thank Joseph Agbeko for his contribution during the interim period while the company was being structured and formally established,” the company added.

In a related development, PKO announced Mrs. Princess Sandelle Dankwa as its new PR and Marketing Manager.

Her appointment was also unanimously approved after a comprehensive review. She brings experience in communications, marketing, and stakeholder engagement and is expected to enhance PKO’s brand visibility and public outreach.
