The Ministry of Education has announced a new date for the release of the 2026/2027 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results, moving the release from Monday, August 31, to Friday, September 4, 2026.

The Ministry said the decision follows appeals from parents, guardians, students and Heads of Schools for more time to complete the submission and uploading of students’ information onto the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and CSSPS platforms.

According to the Ministry, the extension is aimed at ensuring that all qualified students have enough time to complete the required processes and have their details captured for placement into Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

About 20,000 students affected

Data from the Ministry shows that approximately 20,000 qualified students have yet to have their school choices uploaded onto the CSSPS platform by their Heads of Schools, parents or guardians.

The Ministry explained that extending the deadline will prevent incomplete submissions from excluding affected students from the placement process.

Parents, guardians, students and heads of schools have therefore been urged to use the additional time to submit and upload all outstanding information before the new deadline.

The Ministry further reaffirmed its commitment to a fair, transparent, efficient and orderly placement process, ensuring that every qualified student has the opportunity to secure a place in an SHS or TVET institution.
