Shatta Wale, known privately as Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has issued a daring statement only days after walking free from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Performing his track “Rising Youth” at the Osu Homowo Festival, the outspoken musician, who brands himself as the “African Dancehall King”, told fans he was ready to make another high-end purchase if provoked.
“If I am dared, I will buy another Lamborghini within the next two months,” he declared.
His remarks come on the heels of a week marked by legal drama. Shatta Wale was taken into custody last Wednesday by EOCO over questions surrounding the ownership of his yellow Lamborghini Urus, a luxury vehicle now at the heart of an ongoing investigation.
In a statement issued on August 1, EOCO disclosed that during questioning, the artist claimed to have bought the Lamborghini “on the streets”.
The comment has since stirred widespread debate, drawing scepticism from investigators and the public alike.

The anti-graft agency has since seized the car, with reports suggesting that U.S. officials are also assisting with the probe. Shatta Wale was detained until being granted bail, which was first set at GH¢10 million before being reduced to GH¢5 million, with two sureties whose properties must be verified.
The Osu Homowo Festival appearance was his first major outing since his release, and he used the platform to address his ordeal head-on.
His defiant message seemed a direct response to the seizure of his vehicle and the scrutiny surrounding his case.
The statement has spread rapidly online, sparking divided reactions. Supporters view it as evidence of his resilience and bold spirit, while critics argue it risks further antagonising authorities at a time when his legal troubles are far from over.
Ultimately, Shatta Wale’s words capture his trademark defiance and flamboyance. Whether seen as resilience or provocation, his declaration ensures that he remains a dominant figure in Ghana’s public discourse and one of the country’s most polarising entertainers.
