NSMQ 2026: Accra Academy joins PRESEC, Augusco in grand finale

Accra Academy has secured the final spot in the NSMQ 2026 Grand Finale after topping a fiercely contested semi-final at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
The Accra-based school delivered an impressive performance to defeat Bright SHS and Achimota School, finishing at the top of the scoreboard with 54 points.
The final scores were:
Accra Academy – 54 points
Bright SHS – 44 points
Achimota School – 43 points
Only one point separated Bright SHS and Achimota School, highlighting just how closely fought the contest was.

Accra Academy entered the semi-final after overcoming University Practice SHS and Bishop Herman College in a dramatic quarter-final contest.
The school initially found itself behind but produced a strong comeback before sealing victory in the final round with 23 points.
Their latest performance at UCC ensured that they went one step further, securing their place among the three schools competing for the NSMQ 2026 title.

The qualification also represents another significant moment in Accra Academy's NSMQ history.
After ending a lengthy wait to return to the semi-final stage in 2026, the school have now completed their journey to the Grand Finale.
Bright SHS make history despite semi-final exit.
Bright SHS continued their remarkable NSMQ 2026 campaign despite falling short of a place in the final.
The private school from the Eastern Region had already made history by reaching the semi-finals for the first time in its history.
Bright also became the first private school to reach the NSMQ semi-final stage in 2026.
Their quarter-final performance had been equally impressive, as they staged a dramatic final-round comeback to finish on 27 points and edge Chemu SHTS by just one point.
Although they could not overcome Accra Academy in the semi-final, finishing second with 44 points represents an impressive achievement for the school's debut run at this stage of the competition.
Achimota School finish third
Achimota School also produced a strong campaign but narrowly missed out on the Grand Finale.
The Motown boys entered the semi-final after dominating their quarter-final contest against Adisadel College and Boa Amponsem SHS, scoring 55 points.
However, they finished the semi-final with 43 points, one point behind Bright SHS.
Their NSMQ 2026 campaign therefore comes to an end at the semi-final stage.

NSMQ 2026 Grand Finale line-up confirmed
With Accra Academy securing the final qualification spot, the NSMQ 2026 Grand Finale line-up is now complete.
The three schools that will compete for the coveted trophy are:
St Augustine's College
PRESEC-Legon
Accra Academy
St Augustine's College secured 52 points in their semi-final, while PRESEC-Legon advanced with 44 points. Accra Academy completed the line-up with an impressive 54 points.
The three schools will meet in the NSMQ 2026 Grand Finale on September 10, 2026.
PRESEC-Legon will be aiming to add another NSMQ title to their record, while St Augustine's College will be chasing a third trophy.
For Accra Academy, the final presents an opportunity to cap a remarkable 2026 campaign with championship glory.
The stage is now set for St Augustine's College vs PRESEC-Legon vs Accra Academy in what promises to be a highly anticipated NSMQ 2026 Grand Finale.
