The Manhyia Palace has announced arrangements for the One-Week Celebration of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, 7 August 2025. His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, officially informed the Asanteman Council of the demise of the revered Queen Mother on Monday, 11 August 2025. The news of her passing has since been met with deep grief across the Asante Kingdom and beyond, as tributes continue to pour in for her decades of dedicated service to the Asante people. According to a statement issued by Ambassador Nana Effah-Apenteng, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, the One-Week Celebration will be observed on Thursday, 21 August 2025, at Bogyawe, Manhyia Palace, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. The event is expected to attract chiefs, dignitaries, and mourners from across the country and the diaspora, paying their respects to the late Asantehemaa. In honour of the solemn occasion, the Manhyia Palace has declared a ban on all funerals across Asanteman on Thursday, 21 August 2025, to enable the Asantehene and the people of Asanteman to fully participate in the commemoration. ## Why one-week celebration
