Black Sherif emerged victorious after edging out strong competition from fellow nominees Medikal, Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Sarkodie, and Diana Hamilton in what was widely regarded as one of the fiercest categories of the night.

Earlier in March 2026, the TGMA Academy Board unveiled nominees across several major categories, including Artiste of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artiste.
