A social media manager has reportedly deleted a company’s Instagram account with more than 400,000 followers after being denied a promotion.

According to reports, the manager spent two years building the page from zero to over 400,000 followers, earning recognition within the organisation for his efforts.

However, dissatisfied with what he believed was inadequate compensation relative to his contributions, he approached his employer to request a promotion that would better reflect his role and performance.

The request was declined, as the position he sought was already held by the employer’s daughter.

The manager was reportedly told his expectations were unrealistic, with questions raised about his tenure at the company.

Although he initially chose not to escalate the matter, he later deleted the company’s official Instagram page, stating that the individual who occupied the role he had sought should rebuild the platform from the ground up.
