Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale, long-time rivals since their clash at the 2019 Ghana Music Awards, shared a rare moment of unity after embracing on stage during a fundraising event for the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The unexpected gesture was prompted by John Dramani Mahama, who attended the ceremony held on Friday, March 20, 2026.

During the event, both artistes were seen on stage alongside the hosts for the evening, Berla Mundi and Nathaniel Attoh. Addressing the audience, Berla Mundi relayed the president’s request.

"Mr President says that Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale should hug on stage at this moment. This is a request from Mr President, so you can look at him. I'm not the one asking for it," she said.

Seated between Kofi Adams, the Minister for Sports, and Kurt Okraku, President Mahama watched on as the two musicians obliged. Amid anticipation from the audience, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale exchanged a brief embrace, patting each other on the back.

Following the moment, both artists saluted the president, drawing loud cheers from the crowd gathered at the auditorium.
