Full list of 70 unrecognised universities released by GTEC

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has published a list of 70 tertiary institutions across the world whose certificates are not currently recognised in Ghana, citing concerns over accreditation and quality assurance standards.
The Commission warned that qualifications obtained from these institutions may not be accepted for employment, professional licensing, or further academic studies in Ghana.
In a notice issued on May 28, 2026, GTEC stated that the listed institutions remain unrecognised as of the latest review, urging the public to verify accreditation status before enrolling.
The affected institutions are spread across the United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland, India, Ghana, Nigeria, France, Italy, Mexico, Liberia, Zambia, and other countries.
