Chelsea continued their strong Premier League run with a 2-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor, moving three points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Despite not being at their fluent best, the Blues capitalised on their opportunities and secured all three points thanks to clinical finishing.

The hosts started brightly, pressing Chelsea early on. In the seventh minute, Tchaouna’s strike was well blocked by Chalobah, and minutes later, Anthony’s 12-yard effort was intercepted by Tosin.

Burnley’s early pressure created a few nervous moments for Chelsea, with Tchaouna curling a shot from 18 yards straight into Sanchez’s hands.

However, Chelsea struck first in the 37th minute. Jamie Gittens delivered an exquisite pass to the far post, where Pedro Neto rose to meet it with a precise header, sending the ball into the bottom-left corner and giving the visitors a deserved lead.

Burnley had a chance to respond before the break, but Delap’s close-range effort was comfortably saved by Dubravka.

The second half saw Chelsea manage the game efficiently. Burnley offered little in terms of attacking threat, and the Blues doubled their advantage late on.

Marc Guiu overpowered Axel Tuanzebe and laid the ball off to Enzo Fernandez, who blasted past two Burnley defenders to seal a 2-0 victory.

This win marks Chelsea’s third successive clean sheet in the league for the first time since March 2022 and their fifth win in six Premier League matches under Enzo Maresca’s guidance.

The Blues now turn their attention to high-profile fixtures at home against Barcelona and Arsenal, while Burnley will look to bounce back when they visit Brentford next weekend.

Chelsea may not have been at their fluent best, but the efficiency and composure shown in front of goal ensured they left Turf Moor with all three points.
