HALF-TIME REPORT: Barcelona 2-2 Real Madrid – Four goals in chaos-filled Super Cup final

A blistering first half in Riyadh sees Barcelona and Real Madrid head into the break level at 2-2 after a frantic stoppage-time spell produced three goals and swung momentum wildly between the rivals.
Barcelona dominated much of the opening period and took a deserved lead in the 36th minute. Fermín López won possession in midfield and threaded a perfect through ball to Raphinha, who atoned for an earlier miss by curling a precise left-footed finish into the far corner beyond Thibaut Courtois.
Xavi’s men continued to control possession, stretching Madrid across midfield and forcing Courtois into several sharp saves, with Yamal and López both going close. Real struggled to build sustained attacks, registering just two shots on target before the interval.

But everything changed in added time.
First, Real Madrid stunned Barcelona in the 45+2 minute as Vinicius Jr produced a breathtaking solo equaliser. Receiving a square pass from Gonzalo Garcia near halfway, the Brazilian glided past Jules Kounde, split Pedri and Cubarsí on the edge of the area, and calmly slipped the ball past Joan Garcia to make it 1-1.
Barcelona hit back almost immediately. Pedri picked the lock in midfield with a defence-splitting pass into Robert Lewandowski, who stretched to control before lifting a composed finish over the advancing Courtois to restore Barcelona’s lead at 2-1 in the 45+4 minute.

Yet the drama was still not over. From a Madrid corner deep into stoppage time, Dean Huijsen powered a header that Raphinha could only deflect onto the bar. Gonzalo Garcia reacted quickest amid the chaos, poking a bouncing effort off the crossbar, onto the post, and over the line to level the match once again at 2-2.
The whistle brought an end to an extraordinary few minutes that transformed the scoreline and the tone of the final.
With Barcelona enjoying the possession edge and Real Madrid growing more dangerous in transition, the second half promises another thrilling chapter to an El Clásico worthy of a trophy.
