Manchester City lead race for Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo

Manchester City have moved into pole position in the race to sign Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo ahead of the January transfer window, with the Premier League champions reportedly emerging as the Ghana international’s preferred destination.
Although no agreement has been reached between the clubs, City are understood to be leading the chase as they explore options to reinforce their attacking department.
Semenyo’s contract includes a £65 million release clause, which is set to become active from January 1, placing Bournemouth in a strong negotiating position.

The 25-year-old has attracted widespread interest following an impressive campaign with the Cherries, having scored eight Premier League goals this season, including strikes in his last two outings.
His form has not gone unnoticed, with Liverpool and Manchester United also monitoring the situation closely as they weigh up potential moves.
Chelsea have made enquiries about Semenyo’s availability but are not expected to pursue a deal during the January window.
The Blues believe they already possess sufficient depth in their attacking ranks and are likely to revisit their options at a later date.

Tottenham Hotspur, who had tracked Semenyo over the summer and earlier in the season, have since cooled their interest and are now focusing on alternative targets, effectively ruling themselves out of the race.
Despite the growing speculation surrounding his future, Semenyo remains fully committed to Bournemouth and is expected to be included in the squad for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Brentford.
With the January window approaching, the coming weeks could prove decisive as Manchester City and their rivals assess whether to trigger the release clause for one of the league’s standout performers this season.
