2026 FIFA World Cup winners to receive championship rings for first time in history
The winners of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will make history by receiving championship rings for the first time since the tournament began 96 years ago, FIFA has announced.
The new honour will be presented alongside the iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy and gold medals following Sunday's final between Spain and Argentina at New York New Jersey Stadium, marking a major addition to football's biggest prize.
FIFA said the initiative introduces one of North America's most celebrated sporting traditions to the world's most prestigious football competition.

"In a momentous first for a FIFA competition, the tournament winners will also receive bespoke championship rings, bringing one of the most recognisable American sporting traditions to the global game," FIFA said.
Limited-edition championship rings for the 2026 World Cup
The bespoke championship rings will form part of a limited-edition collection of 2,026 individually numbered pieces, created to commemorate the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Only 30 rings will be reserved for the players and coaching staff of the tournament winners, while the remaining 1,996 rings will be released globally as Official Licensed Products, giving football fans the opportunity to own a piece of World Cup history.
A special design celebrates the new world champions.
Each ring has been uniquely crafted to honour the achievements of the 2026 world champions.
One side will feature the iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy, while the opposite side will be personalised with the name and identity of the winning nation. Every ring will also carry an individual serial number, be custom-fitted to its recipient and come with a certificate of authenticity.
Captain and coach to receive rings immediately after final
FIFA confirmed that the winning team's captain and head coach will be presented with temporary championship rings during the trophy presentation ceremony immediately after the World Cup final.
The permanent rings will later be custom-made to ensure every player and staff member receives a personalised ring with a perfect fit.
The introduction of championship rings marks another historic milestone for the FIFA World Cup, blending a long-standing North American sporting tradition with the world's biggest football tournament.
